Baker 500 Named "Top Gun Performer"

Baker 500’s Growth Portfolio was named a "Top Gun Performer" and ranked in the top 1% of large cap growth managers in the PSN Effron universe for the three-year period ending March 31, 2004. Rankings were developed by PSN EFFRON, a division of Informa Investment Solutions, a leading database that tracks and assesses the performance of investment managers. In developing these rankings, PSN EFFRON evaluated over 300 managers.

Baker 500 is one of the top three performers when ranked against its peers in the large-cap universe from March 2001 through March 2003. In this 3-year period when so many investors experienced withering capital erosion during the worst of the bear market, Baker 500’s Growth Portfolio delivered an average of 9.73% annualized return.

Baker 500 Growth Portfolio is an actively managed, large-cap focused portfolio in separately managed accounts. Our investment process includes both a micro (bottom-up) and macro (top-down) approach. Securities selection applies a thoughtful, systematic and disciplined process to a universe of S&P 500 Index securities. A screening method results in a working list of 40-50 securities, which is further refined by a series of higher criteria. The manager then employs subjective criteria to build the final portfolio, which is comprised of 20 stocks distributed across 11-15 industries.
